Power Outage at Heathrow Airport

An explosion and subsequent fire at the main power plant supplying energy to the airport in the Hayes area, west of London, have caused a power outage, leading to the complete closure of the airport throughout Friday.
So far, more than 1,300 flights have been affected by cancellations, delays, and diversions.
A Heathrow spokesperson stated, “A severe power outage has occurred due to a fire at the power plant supplying energy to the airport. To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, the airport will remain closed until 23:59 on March 21.”
